Pick your window. Switch between This week and This month to see shows in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, with NJ listed first. Weeknight trade nights and weekend shows sit together, so check the hours before you plan around one. Every listing shows when we last checked it against the organizer’s page. Still, details change, and the organizer has the final word. Past shows drop off on their own. If something looks wrong, use “Report a correction” on that listing.

Card Show Checklist: Attendees

Print this, fold it, and keep it in your box.

Before you go

  • Confirm date, hours, admission and parking on the organizer's page
  • Write a want list with your max price for each card
  • Set a total budget and how much of it is cash
  • Check recent sold prices for your main targets, not asking prices
  • Know roughly what your sell and trade cards are worth
  • Charge your phone

Bring

  • Small bills, plus a card or payment app as backup
  • Penny sleeves, top loaders, a few semi-rigids
  • Trade and sell cards in their own box, apart from your PC
  • A closed bag or rigid case for purchases
  • Loupe, if you buy raw cards to grade
  • Pen and want list

On the floor

  • Walk the whole room once before any big buy
  • Ask before handling a card; hold it by the edges
  • Let the dealer take cards out of cases
  • Ask if a price is firm and if cash and trade numbers differ
  • Check corners, edges, surface and centering in good light
  • Verify slab cert numbers on the grader's site before you pay
  • Step aside to think, and don't cut in on someone else's deal

Protect your buys

  • Sleeve and top-load raw cards right away
  • Keep purchases in a closed bag on you
  • Get a receipt or photo for bigger buys
  • Don't flash cash or stacks of slabs
  • Lock items out of sight in the car, or go straight home

After

  • Log what you bought and paid
  • Run flip ideas through the Bandit Deal Calculator before you list

Card Show Checklist: Vendors

General guide only. Always follow the organizer's rules and the venue's policies.

Before the show

  • Confirm table size, setup, teardown and load-in with the organizer
  • Check what the fee includes: chairs, power, Wi-Fi, tablecloth
  • Price and inventory everything before you arrive
  • Set a separate budget if you plan to buy from collectors

Supplies

  • Table cover, risers, locking cases for higher-end cards
  • Price tags, markers, tape
  • Sleeves, top loaders, team bags, bags for buyers
  • Power strip and extension cord, lighting if the venue is dim
  • Phone charger, water and food

Setup and pricing

  • Best cards in cases at the back; bargain boxes at the front edge
  • Price everything clearly, or post how pricing works
  • Base prices on recent sold comps; set floors on big cards ahead of time
  • Have cash and trade numbers ready, and say which you're quoting
  • Keep a clear path behind the table

Payments

  • Starting change in small bills
  • Test your card reader on the venue's signal, and have a backup
  • Wait for payment to clear before handing over the card
  • Log each sale: card, price, payment type

Security

  • Cash on you or in a locked box, never loose on the table
  • Never leave the table unattended; bring a helper or ask a neighbor
  • Watch for one person talking while another reaches
  • Open one case at a time and count what comes out
  • Pack high-value items first, load them last; nothing in the car overnight

After

  • Reconcile sales against inventory and cash
  • Note what drew interest and what didn't move

Tips for your first card show

  • Bring cash and a phone to look up recent sold prices (see our guide on how to comp a sports card).
  • Know what you want to buy or sell, and bring your cards in sleeves or top loaders.
  • Check the show dates, hours and admission on the organizer’s site before you leave.

How to tell if a show is worth the trip

  • Size and mix: the calendar listing or organizer page usually says roughly how many tables there are. More tables means more chances to find what you collect, and more prices to compare.
  • What the dealers carry: some shows lean toward modern, vintage, graded cards or Pokémon/TCG. Check the organizer’s description or social posts for what to expect.
  • Cost and logistics: look at admission, parking and how long the show runs. A short trade night is different from a full weekend show.
  • Recent reviews of the organizer: look for collector comments on the organizer’s own pages or social accounts, not just the listing.
  • Your goal: buying, selling and trading need different shows. If you want to sell a whole collection, a show is often the slowest way to do it.

How to read a dealer’s offer at a show

  • Ask what the offer is based on. A fair dealer can tell you which recent sales they looked at and how they see the condition.
  • Compare it with sold prices, not asking prices. Look up sold listings on your phone before you decide (see how to comp a card).
  • Expect it to be below comps. Dealers pay table fees, carry the risk the card won’t sell, and need a margin, so an offer under recent sold prices is normal.
  • Know whether it is cash or trade. Trade credit is often a different number than cash. Ask for both.
  • Get offers on single cards and on the whole group. A bulk price can be different from adding up the single cards.
  • It is fine to walk away. You do not have to accept the first offer you get.

Selling a collection? Skip the show table.
